Dear friends,
During the month of July, with the help of some of you, Canon Cristofoli completed an application to be nominated Church of the Year, receive a medal for the work undertaken and a cheque for £500. This competition is organised by NCT ( National Church Trust). We are now on a short list and an architect from NCT is coming next Wednesday to judge us against other churches.
*Why compete?*
Success would give us *excellent publicity* for further public funding.
Success will put our church and our community on the map: *evangelisation.*
Success will promote the North of England and the Catholic Church, which are not always well represented.
