The restoration of our Shrine Church is now in its fourth phase and needs your help.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The church is\nproducing a calendar, to help raise match-funding for a National Lottery\nHeritage Grant to repair the dome. In keeping with Wirral as Liverpool City\nRegion\u2019s \u2018Borough of Culture 2019,\u2019 the calendar, entitled All You Need Is Love\u2019,\nwill showcase local talent and our beautiful Wirral.  Monthly themes will be based on St Paul\u2019s\nLetter to the Corinthians \u2013 \u2018Love is Patient, Love is Kind\u2019, with a different aspect on love for each month.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project\nManager Anne Archer said, \u201cInitially,\nwe are looking for twelve stunning\nimages, hopefully some funny ones, some historical ones \u2013 great if they have\nthe Dome in them too!  The competition is\nopen to all ages, so we hope local children will also contribute. And we have\nsecured exhibition space in Wallasey Central Library and The Williamson Art\nGallery Caf\u00e9 to display more works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our other aim,\nsubject to funding, is to produce a\ncoffee table style hard-backed \u2018reflection\u2019 book which will include yet\nmore of your stunning images along with inspirational words – verses that\neither make us smile or inspire us – so please do also send us your poetry,\neither with your image or separately. We are keen for this book to appeal to a wide audience,\nincluding people with dementia. So, for the poets among you, please stick with\nsimple language and short sentence\nstructure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Calendar\nwill be sold at many local outlets including: The Post Office, Victoria Rd,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nSea Shanty Caf\u00e9, Atherton St, Literally Bookshop, Atherton St, The Light\nCinema,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cafe\nCreme on the promenade, Vale Park Caf\u00e9, the Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead,\nthe Floral Pavilion Theatre, Cards Galore, Victoria Rd, Heritage Centre, and St James Church, Albion St.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reflection\nbook would be free of charge to libraries, care homes, day centres, schools and\non request.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artwork and\nphotos will be chosen by a panel of judges including: Cathy Roberts (aka \u2018Tugboat Cath\u2019, local author and\nillustrator), Wirral Globe\u2019s Peter Grant and Dave Peddie from The New Brighteners. Selected works will be\ndisplayed at Wallasey\nCentral Library from the 3- 27September\n2019 inclusive and at the\nWilliamson Art Gallery during November 2019. There will be a recital session of\nmusic and poetry at The Williamson one Sunday afternoon in November 2019, date\nto be confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
