On the 29th January last, the feast of Secondary Patron of the Institute St Francis de Sales, Abbés Almeida and Henry were ordained to the Sacred Priesthood by His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke.

Ordination Mass
It is with great sadness that we have learned of the death of Cardinal George Pell. He was 81. His private secretary, Fr. Joseph Hamilton said that His Eminence died in Rome on Tuesday night.
His Eminence was ordained priest on the 16 December 1966, Consecrated Bishop on the 21 May 1987 and created a Cardinal Priest of the Holy Roman Church on the 21st October 2003 Saint John Paul II.
Cardinal Pell was a previous visitor to the Institute Motherhouse at Gricigliano in March 2021 when he took part in the liturgies for the Annuntiation.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon him.
May he rest in peace.

and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

First Vespers
Following on from our earlier article concerning the grape harvest, the seminarians and staff have been hard at work once more. This time gathering in the olives from the tranquil sun kissed groves scattered around Gricigliano.
The final photographs show a special dinner following the harvest.
The commemoration of the Faithful Departed on the 2nd November and on the following day, a Requiem Mass for the dead of the ICKSP.
All Souls
It is with great sadness that the GB Province of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest has learned of the passing of Mr. David Lloyd, a former Chairman of the Latin Mass Society of England & Wales.
His efforts and those of his contemporaries did much to advocate and preserve the liturgical patrimony that we continue to express today in the glorification of God. David was a true proponent of the Vetus Ordo and we should be truly grateful for his efforts to make known the rich liturgical heritage of Holy Mother Church.
Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen.

In French this is called Vendanges, in English – the harvesting of the grape to become wine. The work takes place in warm weather in the Tuscan hills and the seminarians and their Canon superiors all work together to gather the grapes. It is hard work!
After having prepared themselves for a few days in the house of the Sister Adorers in Le Noirmont, Switzerland, the new first-year seminarians recently received their choir habit from the hands of Canon Mora, the Seminary Rector.
This academic year will have seminary chapel filled with thirty young men beginning their priestly formation. Their newly-received choir habit, a blue cape, places them already under the protection of Our Lady as they begin their years of formation.
May the Blessed Virgin, protect them and nurture their vocations to be good and holy priests for the Church!
