Canon Scott Tanner

Canon Scott Tanner is now the first Rector of Holy Angels, Torquay, in the beautiful county of Devon.

After studying Theology and Religious Studies at Nottingham University, he studied for seven years at the Institute’s St Philip Neri International Seminary at Gricigliano near Florence in Italy. As part of his formation he also spent one year as a Religious Studies teacher at Brussels International Catholic School. He was ordained in 2015 by H.E. Cardinal Burke. He spent a period during his diaconal year at Ss Peter & Paul and St Philomena Shrine Church in the Diocese of Shrewsbury returning there for sometime following ordination. He was then assigned as Assistant Priest at St Walburge’s Church in Preston in the Diocese of Lancaster during which time he was instrumental in the setting up the St Benedict Academy

Canon Scott Smith

Canon Smith was ordained in 2017 by Cardinal Burke. He originates from Kansas, USA, and like Canon Tanner was trained for the priesthood at Gricigliano in the Tuscan hills above Florence in Italy. He initially spent time at the then newly erected aposolate at St Winefride’s in Shrewsbury before moving to Cornwall to be Chaplain to the Carmelite Sisters at Lanherne in the equally as beautiful county of Cornwall.
