Building upon three earlier successful HLF funded phases of repair, this project will complete the restoration and regeneration of New Brighton’s iconic “Dome of Home”, the magnificent landmark church on the tip of the Wirral which is visible from miles around. The project will protect the HLF’s existing investment in the building to date and will increase community engagement in the project in new and exciting ways. There are structural issues with the  concrete of the Dome ring which is showing serious signs of deterioration causing water ingress which is  damaging  the historic fabric.

The proposed Activity Programme includes a dementia-friendly oral history project, musical activities to bring the community together, a Secondary Education Pack and Continued Professional Development opportunities for heritage professionals. The aim is to provide something for all ages and abilities with all happening in or around this wonderful building.

Candidates will need to  demonstrate proven experience. The  Project Manager is a key role with lead responsibility for coordinating the project working closely  with the Conservation Architect and other professionals. The aim is to increase community engagement in the heritage of the church, promote the use of the church and publicise the project. The Project Manager and Engagement Officer will work closely together to secure match funding and complete the feasibility studies to develop the range of engagement activities which will inform the Activity Plan for the Stage Two bid. The Conservation Architect will prepare the specification for the fabric repairs and advise on all relevant aspects of the repair and restoration of this important listed building.
